The 10.30 am service has the largest attendance; it includes music and singing of hymns and worship songs, with organ and instruments. Sermons are normally based on the Bible readings. The order of service usually follows fairly loosely the new Common Worship book. There is at the same time Sunday Club for children. Under 3s can use the Children’s Corner in church. At All Age Worship children and adults meet together using a free style of worship with more modern songs. Each week refreshments afterwards help people to meet.

 

At 6.30 pm there is variety. First Sundays of the month see Communion following the Iona community’s style, with hymns and songs and a short sermon. Third Sunday is a Communion using the Common Worship book with traditional language and hymns. Reflective Worship on the fourth Sunday of the month is quiet and meditative with an informal and varying structure. The second Sunday alternates between a straightforward Evening Prayer from the Common Worship book and ‘At 7’. This latter breaks the mould and starts at 7 o’clock! It uses contemporary music with a worship band and a free style and is held at the Festival Drayton Centre.

 

The early Communion service at 8.30 am every week keeps to the Book of Common Prayer, with its traditional language, and it includes a short sermon. There is normally no music or singing. The two midweek Communion services are of the same style at present.
